Welcome to Gorgora Renaissance & Development Association
Gorgora Renaissance & Development Association (GRDA) is a non-profit organization that has been established to promote the socio-economic life of Gorgora’s people.
Gorgora is a small town by the north shore of Lake Tana, located in the Northern Part of
Ethiopia, Amhara region. It is about 41 miles south of Gondar. Founded in medieval times,
Gorgora was once considered a vibrant agricultural town surrounded by ancient churches and
monasteries.

The organization was founded on January 1, 2013 by
individuals who grew up in Gorgora and now reside in the United States and Canada.
